The Kemetic/Afrikan Royal Calendar is built on the great cosmic alignments of the solstices and equinoxes, the four sacred gates of time. These points guide the seasons, mark divine shifts, and align our collective energy with the cosmic order. For the BakwaNtu, these cardinal points restore our connection to home, to Kemet, and to the natural cycles that govern life.
September 23 – The African New Year (Season of Ausar)
This is the time of rebirth, renewal, and new beginnings. As the Spring Equinox arrives in the Southern Hemisphere, we honor Ausar —the principle of resurrection and transformation. This marks the sacred Afrikan New Year, a time to realign with MAAT and set intentions for the cycle ahead.
December 23 – The Summer Solstice (Season of Neb-Hebt)
This longest day of the year, celebrates Neb-Hebt (Nephthys) and the fullness of the sun’s power. It is the season of abundance, light, and fertility, when the energy of life is at its peak. A time to celebrate prosperity, growth, and the nurturing power of creation.
March 23 – The Autumn Equinox (Season of Auset)
With day and night in balance, we enter the season of Auset (Isis), the Divine Mother. This is a time of harvest, reflection, and balance. It is when we honor the sacred feminine, intuition, and nurturing force that sustains us.
June 21 – The Winter Solstice (Season of Set)
The shortest day and longest night mark the season of Set (Sutekh), the force of destruction, challenge, and transformation. It is a time to confront shadow, release what no longer serves, and prepare for the coming rebirth. The Festival of Sokar at this point reconnects us with the cosmic cycles of death and renewal.
These four cardinal points are our compass. They align us not with foreign calendars, but with the Sacred Time of Kemet—our original time. When we, as a collective, observe these cosmic gates, we unify our energy, restore our spiritual power, and walk once again in harmony with the universe.
